Like you, I have many stories to tell!
And, this one also has its place.

of two desparate creatures
that found themselves
in a sticky way

One is a painter of marinescapes,
the other a mover of goods.
That day was a little bit different.
O, No! It doesn’t look good!

That day the painter had posted
upon the hill, his favorite spot.

A handshake was witnessed.
Very odd below those rickety, shady docks.

The painter had known the dock worker
to be an upstanding man.
So why was this exchange any different?
He could tell there’s an unruly plan!

Normally, he set to work
with shading many colors
to lay out possible figures.
This day he had a camera.

Hit the enlarger, zooming in, another pass...
He could see something dangling from the dock.
Tied to a slight rope, seaweed bobbing
closer look and yet again
that looks to be hair!

Confronting the dock man,
who he thought he knew well.
“i have no idea what you’re saying"
“what do you mean? i can see frayed rope hanging”
Dredging the canal revealed young man’s body
“o, no I knew him well!!!”

Taken in cuffs, the dockman showed all signs of regret.
A deal gone sour, those who put him up to it paid as well.
Poor Johnny-lad got too close to darkness and fell
away...
